Organisation - Call sheets
I have created a call sheet for my music video to help me film it. On the call sheet i have included the cast, their character, where they are need and if they are part of the main cast. This will allow my actors to be prepared for my project as they'll know who they are and where they are supposed to be filming. Below this i have included a set description and what character is needed to help me when setting up the scene. I have also added the times of sunrise and sunset, this was important as my music video takes place in one day so for continuity i need to ensure that i have filmed the video before it starts to get dark.
I will be giving the call sheet to my cast this week so they will be prepared for the filming of my video, allowing an easy filming process.

Organisation - Supporting artists
In my music video i have Jourdan playing my lead protagonist, although most of the shots include him there are some other shots that require some supporting artists.

From looking at my story board i have worked out that i need about ten extras for my video. However relying on that many people may be a struggle due to things like scheduling, so i plan to double up people with their roles. As the supporting artists will be wearing masks they will be unrecognisable to the audience meaning that they can feature in my video more than once. This means that ill only need about five people for my video which is a more manageable number.

Organisation - Permission
In my music video i have a planned shot of my main character running towards and opening a fire exit. However before going ahead with filming i needed to make sure i am allowed to do this as usually fire exits are alarmed. To make sure that i can i asked the site team if this was a possibility, which luckily it was. This means i can go a head with this scene and know that by opening the door it will not create a disruption.

Organisation - Shot list
I have created a shot list for my music video. In this shot list i have included the shot number, shot size, duration of the shot, the location and the description for the shot. I created this on a spread sheet as this has clear format and it easy to use. I will be using this throughout filming the video as it will help me keep on track as to what i am supposed to be doing, making the filming of my video quick and effective.

Organisation- Tracking shot equipment
As I've said in a previous post I'll be using a tracking shot in my music video with my iPhone. The issue with tracking shots is that it may not be smooth due to the fact that my hand my be shakey and my balance.
To tackle this issue I'll be using this;
This is a camera stabiliser from amazon and it allows me to take steady shots from my phone. The use of this will improve my tracking shots significantly which will make my music video look good.
As I am waiting this to come, which should be in a couple of days I am planning to film my still shots first and the tracking shots at a later date.

Organisation - Camera
I am coming closer to filming my music video and I've have been planning what I'll actually use to film the video. I am using a combination of two cameras.
I'll be using this with a tripod to film my still shots when I don't have to move the camera so I am able to achieve an effective shot easily.
Firstly I'll be using a video recorder
I'll be using this with a tripod to film my still shots when I don't have to move the camera so I am able to achieve an effective shot easily.
Secondly I'll also be using an IPhone 6
The reason why I am choosing to film on my IPhone is because i need to create quite a few tracking shots where I need to be following my protagonist who will be running in these shots. Using an iPhone allows me to easily to do this as it is light and not bulky unlike a video recorder.
Matching camera quality is always an issue when using two different cameras however i have though about this and checked that an iPhone 6 and the camera I'll be using both film at 8mp 1080p at 60ps
So this will not be an issue.

Organisation - Antagonist
In my music video my lead antagonist is a hacker/ controller that controls his 'minions' through their computer. I want the shots of the antagonist to be dark and creepy so when I film this, I'm planning this to be in a dark room that's dimly lit. In preparation for this I took some photos of the shot I'm planning in order for me to get the light balance right.
Here is the first shot i took:
As you can clearly see this isn't a good shot due to the lack of lighting. I took this shot with the camera flash on my phone but it wasn't enough lighting to see the antagonist.
This is my second attempt at the photo and this worked out much better than the first one. To achieve this I had to get 6 smart phones and use the flash touch and hold them near to the face but away enough so you don't see the glare or the phones in the shot. Though is was tricky balancing the phones in one hand this achieved an effective shot.
This was helpful for me to do because now I know when I come to film this shot I know how much lighting I need in order for the antagonist to be visible.

Organisation - Actor outfit
As I have said in a previous blog post I wanted my protagonist to have a particular look and style (post)
With this planned I have sourced an outfit that fits my vision and I've asked my actor to try it out
As you can see my actor is wearing a black hoodie which gives of a cool vibe which I was aiming for and he has his hair in a quiff which is a popular hair style at the moment which reinforces the cool vibe I wanted.
He is also wearing blue jeans which is a casual look and trainers which is very important in my music video as they are trendy, fitting in with the characters ethos as well as practice as the actor has to run quite abit in the shots.
Now having the actual costume my actor is wearing helps me to see what my music video will be like clearly.

Drafting and Planning - Test shot, phone throw
I have now been planning some of my most technical shots in my music video to ensure that it is possible to do it and it give me an idea on how to go about it when i come to film the real version.
Here i have practised the third shot of my music video which is the throwing of the phone across the room.
Here i have practised the third shot of my music video which is the throwing of the phone across the room.
It took quite a few goes to master this shot but in the video above is the shot i want. To get this right i had two people on either sides of the room throwing and catching the phone which i was on a table to be at the right high to get the phone in shot. I then added a slow motion effect while the phone is in the air to highlight the significance of this moment.
By doing this it will save me time when filming my music video because i know how to go about it in order to create the desired shot.

Drafting and Planning - Test shot, tracking shot
In my music video i'll be using quite a few tracking shots that follows the lead protagonist. I have decided to test this out before had, before the actual shoot.
Here above is my attempt at it. This took a few goes to do this as getting the shot to look smooth with out a dolly was a struggle. As you can see i have done an over the shoulder tracking shot in this clip and this creates a sense of begin watched which relates to my music video as the main protagonist is being hunted by masked people. By doing this practice shot has prepared on how to take a good tracking shot, so i'll be able to do this easily when shooting my music video.

Drafting and Planning - Preliminary shots
I have been testing out where i will do my shots and if the composition works with it. I have took some photos that will be my first two shots of my music video

The first shot is a medium close up of the protagonist doing some work on the desk while his phone is ringing constantly. Then the next shot is a medium close up of the boy picking up his phone looking shocked. I took the photos with a noir effect on an Iphone 6 to see if i like the idea of a black and white effect, which i do. Taking these photos has given me an idea as to what my actual shots will be like and gives my actor an idea of what i want.
