Drafting and planning - Preliminary Task

For our preliminary task we got to experiment with different camera and editing techniques to create a mini sort film to help us when we come to create our main project.

The four techniques i used to film this video was match on action action, 180 degree rule, tracking and panning.

The 180 degree rule that was used during the conversation is a basic guideline regarding the           on-screen spatial relationship between a character and another character or object within a scene.
The match on action that was used in the bit where the girl opens the door and goes through it is the editing techniques where the editor cuts from one shot to another view that matches the first shot's action.

The use of the tracking allows the audience to follow the character and the story and sets the scene and location of the action.

The panning shot introduces the surroundings which was a class room and sets the narrative on the scene.

This exercise was really helpful as it has intorduced me to all the different camera techniques and how to use them. So when i come to create my video i can reflect on what i've learnt creating this mini scene.
